Scranton, PA - Marywood University's women's volleyball team has clinched a berth in the CSAC post-season tournament despite falling to local conference rival Baptist Bible College 3-1 Thursday evening at the Pacers' Insalaco Arena.  Marywood clinched a playoff berth thanks to Cabrini's 3-0 win over Cedar Crest.  Marywood moves to 13-10 overall and 6-4 in the CSAC with the loss while BBC improved to 21-9, 9-2 CSAC with the win.

Marywood jumped out to a 20-6 lead in the opening set before BBC won seven of the game's next nine points to climb back into it. The Pacers would fend off BBC though and take the game, 25-16.  The Defenders responded with a tight second game win, edging Marywood 27-25.  The Defenders found a little breathing room in the third game with a 25-20 win before finishing off Marywood with a 25-17 win in game four.

Jessica White led all players with 20 kills for BBC while teammate Emily Gordon had 14.  Marywood's Ashley Zalewski led the Pacers with nine kills.  Hanna Rehm had 44 assists on the night for the Defenders.  Kelly Chadwick had 29 for Marywood.  The Pacers' Rachel Tollett led all players with 27 digs on the night while Ashley Cavallier had 15 and Chadwick had 13.  Amanda Khozouri had 14 digs as well for Marywood.  A pair of Defenders had 20+ digs as White had 23 and Gordon had 22.

Marywood closes the regular season Saturday with a 1:00pm matchup at Centenary College.  A win could help stay in the #4 seed position while a loss to the Cyclones would put Centenary at #4 and Marywood at #5, setting up a re-match of the two teams next Tuesday in the first round.  Marywood could host either Centenary or Cedar Crest with a win and depending on results of Cedar Crest's Saturday game at Notre Dame.
