Box Score

Hackettstown, NJ - Host Centenary College won a close match against visting Marywood University 3-2 but it was Marywood who advances to the CSAC playoffs as the Pacers earned the #5 seed thanks to tie-breaking criteria.  The Cyclones improve to 8-24, 6-5 CSAC, while Marywood fell to 13-11, 6-5.  Cedar Crest College also finished 6-5 in league play.  Head-to-head tiebreaking criteria was out since all three teams defeated each other, and Marywood edged Cedar Crest and Centenary in the second criteria, sets won, with a +1 margin.  Cedar Crest then got the #6 seed with a head-to-head win over Centenary.

In a strange match, none of the sets were close until the decisive fifth set.  Centenary cruised to a 25-12 win but Marywood responded with a 25-13 win in the second.  Centenary then won 25-8 before Marywood responded with a 25-19 win in game four.  The Cyclones won the fifth set, 15-13.

Erika Chu led all players with 16 kills for Centenary. Teammate Jelana Markovic had 15 while Kelli McMenamin had 22 assists. Markovic added 17 assists on the day to go along with a team-high 19 digs.

Rachel Tollett led Marywood with a match-high 34 digs while Ashley Cavalleri had 20.  Kelly Chadwick had 24 assists while Ashley Zalewski led the Pacers with nine kills.

#5 Marywood will travel to take on #4 Cairn University Tuesday evening. The Highlanders earned a 3-1 win over the Pacers earlier in the year in Langhorne.  Match-time has yet to be set.
