Scranton, PA - Visiting Kean University scored four goals in 23 minutes to open the game and despite out-shooting the Cougars and scoring two second half goals Marywood could not complete the comeback as Kean improved to 10-1-1 on the year with a 4-2 win over the Pacers Thursday evening in Scranton.  Marywood falls to 3-7-1 with the loss, with six of their seven losses coming against regionally or nationally ranked programs.  Kean entered the game unbeaten in their last seven games (6-0-1), ranked 8th in the NSCAA South Atlantic Region poll and also received votes for the D3soccer.com national poll.

The Cougars lived up to their billing as a strong program in the early minutes as Marywood's defense and midfield could not adjust to the quick feet of forward Carly Seidel.  Seidel made the Pacers pay early, scoring on a 30-yard tear just three minutes into the contest.  Kean doubled their lead at the six minute mark as Kristen Hager scored on a Amanda Repko assist to make it 2-0.

Seidel scored unassisted again in the 17th minute and assisted inon Hagar's second goal of the game in the 23rd minute as the visitors built a 4-0 lead that they would take into halftime.  Kean held a 11-9 advantage in shots in the opening half.

Marywood came out strong in the second half and eventually out-shot Kean 9-5 in the period.  With continued pressure on Kean's back line, Marywood missed several opportunities in close range thanks to strong goalkeeping from Kean's KC Nunez.

The Pacers finally broke through at the 79 minute mark when Angela Heydt sent in a direct kick which Alixandria Fiore headed home at the back post to make it 4-1.  Three minutes later, Lauren Eck took a Fiore cross, flicked it to herself over a defender using her shoulder, and chipped Nunez to make it 4-2.

For the game, Marywood out-shot Kean 18-16 but the Cougars held a 11-8 advantage in shots on goal.  Nunez made six saves for the Cougars while three keepers saw action for Marywood.  Victoria Pezdirtz took the loss after allowing all four Kean goals and making two stops.  Emily Osborne played a strong 58 minutes in goal, making three stops and not allowing a goal.  Meredith Moore made one save in 8:21 of action.

The Pacers begin a long stretch of Conference play this weekend as they host Notre Dame of Maryland University this Saturday at 1:00pm.
