Christian Lawlor had two goals, including the game-winner, to send Marywood into the CSAC Semifinals Friday at Rosemont Lawlor's OT Goal Sends Marywood to CSAC Semis Men's Soccer - 11/1/2012 6:04:00 PM Box Score Scranton, PA - Christian Lawlor's second goal of the game 3:12 into the first overtime period lifted #3 Marywood University into the CSAC semifinals Friday as the Pacers edged #6 Centenary College 3-2 Thursday afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers (10-5-3) advance to take on #2 Rosemont College Friday afternoon while Centenary sees their season come to a close with an 8-9-1 mark. Marywood held a commanding 29-6 advantage in shots for the game but had trouble finding the back of the net throughout the game as Cyclone net-minder Jesse Goleman came up with a game-high 17 saves. Centenary, despite not holding a shot early on, went up 1-0 on a direct kick in the 19th minute, scoring on their first shot of the game. A foul just outside the right edge of the 18-yard box awarded the Cyclones a dangerous set play, and Antonio Cabrera made the Pacers pay with a beautifully played ball to the far post, beating Marywood keeper Austin Wright and putting the visitors up, 1-0. Just less than five minutes later the Pacers found the equalizer on Lawlor's first tally of the night. A poor clear by Goleman on a pass back from one of his own defenders went right to Lawlor, who was waiting five yards away, and Lawlor one-timed the ball with the inside of his right foot past Goleman to make it 1-1. The Cyclones would go up 2-1 just before half on their second shot of the game. Alex Khouri took a feed from Abiodun Lawal and beat Wright to give the Cyclones a 2-1 lead heading into halftime. Thirteen minutes into the second half, a Marywood scoring opportunity was stopped by hand-ball on the goal line by a Centenary defender, resulting in a penalty kick and automatic red card on the Cyclone player. Ryan Jones stepped up and struck the ball to his right, beating Goleman and leveling the game at 2-2. However, less than a minute after scoring, Jones himself was sent off after a hard tackle at mid-field. With both teams playing with 10 players for the final 30 minutes of regulation, the Pacers continued to push but could not find the winning goal. Then, 3:12 into the first overtime, Daniel Lopez took the ball down the left flank and slotted a ball that Goleman got a hand on but could not control, leaving a 50-50 ball for Lawlor to fight for and put in the back of the net for the game-winner.
