Wilkes-Barre, PA – Marywood University women's basketball was unable to hold off Wilkes University, as the Pacers lost 50-40 Tuesday in a nonconference matchup. The setback knocks Marywood to a 1-2 record on the season.  Brittany Mang led the Pacers with 14 points. The Carbondale native shot 6-of-14 from the floor, and contributed on defense with four steals and six rebounds.  

Carly Leitzel came off the bench to pull down a game-high 13 rebounds, including 11 defensive boards.  Morgann Haduck produced a season-high seven assists. Haduck joined Maggie Presnal with six points.

The Pacers traded leads with the Colonels through much of the first half, and moved to within two points at 20-18 following a pair of Daniella Castellanos free throws. Wilkes went on a seven-point run to end the first half, and 20-4 streak that extended into the second frame.

Following the run, the Pacers finished the game by cutting an 18-point deficit down to 10.

Marywood makes its home debut Nov. 26 when it hosts cross-town rival University of Scranton at 7 p.m.
