Scranton, PA – Ashley Murray and Brittany Mang each tallied 19 points to lead Marywood University women's basketball to a 90-49 victory over Baptist Bible Wednesday. Marywood (4-3, 1-0 CSAC) picked up a win in its conference season opener and wins its third consecutive game.

Ashley Murray led the Pacers with seven rebounds and connected on five 3-pointers. Maggie Presnal also contributed with 11 points for the Pacers. Samantha LaForgia hit all four of her shots for nine points.

Marywood shot a season-best 54.9 percent (39-of-71) from the floor. The Pacers also made 63.6 percent (7-of-11) of 3-pointers. The Pacers held the Defenders (1-6, 1-2 CSAC) to a 32.1 shooting percentage and just seven field goals in the second half.

The Pacers' 90 points is their highest output since putting up 93 points on Penn State Hazleton on Nov. 17, 2011 – a span of 33 games.

Baptist Bible's Kelly Bargfelt scored 12 points, and Chi Boggs posted 11 points. Maeghin Mueller garnered a game-high 14 rebounds and was two points shy of a double-double.

The Pacers distanced themselves from the Defenders early with a 9-2 run to go ahead 18-11.
Marywood went into the break with an 18-point lead at half when Mang drained a 3-pointer from NBA range at the buzzer to go ahead 43-25. The Carbondale Area grad made 9-of-12 shots, and reached double digits for the fifth consecutive game.

The second half played out much like the first, with Baptist Bible struggling to gain any momentum. The Defenders got as close as 15 points in the second half before the Pacers went on a 30-6 run to seal the victory.

Baptist Bible went without a field goal for a 6:54 span until Carissa Erdman hit a 3-point shot with three seconds remaining in the game. Marywood, in contrast, shot 20-for-34 (58.8 percent) in the second half.

Marywood seeks its fourth straight victory when it travels to Baltimore Saturday to play Notre Dame (Md.) at 1 p.m. The Pacers return home on Dec. 17 to host No. 13 Lebanon Valley.
