Box Score

Rosemont, PA - A pair of free throws from Ryan Corrigan got Marywood to within two points with 2:38 remaining, but host Rosemont College exploded for a quick 7-0 run to regain control and held off the Pacers for a 91-84 win in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.  Andrew Andrle led Marywood with 19 points and Corrigan added 17 as the Pacers fell to 2-6 (1-3 CSAC).  Rosemont improved to 6-1 (2-1 CSAC) and got a game-high 22 point effort from Jashuan Fontanez.

Both teams were hot from the floor all game long as the Ravens shot a blistering 58.3% from the floor which included a nine for 15 effort (60%) from three-point range.  Marywood hit 49.1% of their shots (28 of 57) and was eight of 15 (53.3%) from behind the arc.  Shane Kellaher (13 points) and Matt Tintle (10 points) joined Andrle and Corrigan in double figures for the Pacers, who played without Tyrone Baker who sat with an injury.  Five Rosemont players reached double figures in all led by Fontanez's 22 point day.  Tremell Green and Derrick Carter each had 18 while Kiwan Murray and DeAndre Jordan had 12 apeice.

With Marywood up 6-5 in the early going, Rosemont tied the game on a free throw and then took the lead for good on a layup by Green.  The Ravens would go up by as many as 13 in the opening half before Marywood trimmed the Ravens' lead to eight at the break on a three-pointer from Tintle.

The Ravens extend their lead to 14 early in the second half and maintained a double-digit advantage until Kellaher nailed a three to get Marywood to within eight two and a half minutes into the second.  Marywood could not close that gap any further right away and fell back down by as many as 14 again later in the half.  Down 71-59 with 9:51 remaining, the Pacers got to within two (79-77) after a pair of Corrigan free throws capped a 18-8 run for Marywood over a 7:23 stretch.

Unfortunately for the Pacers, a quick three from Fontanez sparked a 7-0 run for the hosts which put the game out of reach.

Marywood will be off next week for finals but host Stevenson University (Md) on Monday, December 17 in their last action of the fall semester.  Tip-off is set for 4:00pm.
