Scranton, PA – Marywood University forced six turnovers in the opening six minutes of Wednesday night's Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball match-up against visiting Philadelphia Biblical University, racing out to a 17-5 lead the Pacers would never relinquish as they went on to earn a 75-50 win over the Crimson Eagles at Marywood's Insalaco Arena.  Marywood forced a total of 33 turnovers, a season high, to improved to 7-6 in CSAC play (8-12 overall) while PBU fell to 4-16, 2-12 CSAC with the loss.

The Pacers built a 38-24 halftime lead thanks to forcing 14 total PBU miscues in the first half and 45% shooting of their own.  Despite the Crimson Eagles hitting 60% of their shots in the opening stanza, Marywood limited the visitors to just 15 attempts.  Matt Lepri had 16 points at the break on 6 of 10 shooting from the floor while Pierre Bakinde had seven for Marywood .  Charles Kennedy led PBU at halftime with nine points.

Marywood was just as tough in the second frame as the Pacers forced 19 more miscues on the Crimson Eagles' offense.  In the second half, Marywood limited PBU to 18 shots.  The Pacers connected on 15 of 30 attempts in the second half and completed the game hitting 47.5% of their efforts from the floor.

Lepri finished with a game-high 20 while Bakinde had 14.  Kennedy led PBU with 16 points.
Marywood returns to action Saturday as the Pacers host conference leading Cabrini at 1:00 pm.  Saturday's game runs in conjunction with Marywood's annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.  This year, former field hockey student-athletes Lauren Wynne Bickel ('96) and Piper Frick ('02) along with former baseball standout Jeff Williams ('01) will be inducted.
