Marywood Rolls Past PBU in CSAC Play

Scranton, PA – Ashley Murray scored a career-high 23 points on Wednesday evening to help Marywood University complete a season sweep of Philadelphia Biblical University in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action as the Pacers ran away with an 81-32 victory.  The Pacers, who defeated the Crimson Eagles 80-44 on January 11th in Langhorne, improve to 14-6 on the season and 9-2 in the conference.
 
Holding a 10-6 lead with 11:34 remaining in the opening half of Wednesday night's game, Marywood embarked on a 20-2 run that saw the hosts lead stretch to 30-8 with 5:21 to play in the opening stanza.  The Pacers would stretch their lead to 31 points at halftime, 45-14, after outscoring the Crimson Eagles 15-6 over the final 4:46 of the period. 
 
Carly Leitzel led a trio of Pacers in double-figures in the first half with 15 points on a 7-9 effort from the floor while Murray and Morgann Haduck each netted 12 first half points, with Haduck hitting on 4-5 three point attempts as the Pacers shot a blistering, 72.7 percent from beyond the arc in the period.  Dani Bradley-Wilson paced Philadelphia Biblical with eight points in the opening 20 minutes of play while Hannah McCardle added six points.
 
Marywood continued to dominate play after the break, outscoring the Crimson Eagles 11-2 to start the second half.  It was all Pacers the rest of the way as 10 of 13 Marywood players who saw playing time netted points in the runaway victory.
 
Murray's 23 points came on 9-15 shooting including a 5-6 effort from three-point land to lead Marywood's 64.7 percent night (11-17) from beyond the arc.  Leitzel finished with 17 points and a game-high four steals while Haduck also ended the evening in double-figures with 12 points on four first half treys.  Marywood shot 50 percent from the floor for the contest and hit 8 of 10 free throw attempts.
 
Marra Butler led all players with four assists for the Pacers while Maddie Lavery corralled a team-leading six rebounds as hosts held a 42-34 advantage on the glass for the night.
 
Bradley-Wilson finished the night with a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Crimson Eagles, who are now 4-16 on the year (1-12 CSAC).  McCardle and Elyse Ceide chipped in six points apiece for the visitors in the loss as Philadelphia Biblical shot 24.6 percent from the field for the game and 23.1 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Marywood will next look to complete their second-straight CSAC sweep of the year on Saturday when they visit Keystone College for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff in La Plume.
