Box Score

Scranton, PA - Marywood University took their first lead of the game with 16:22 left in the game and took only their second lead of the game on a three from Brent Keyes with 3:45 left but the host Pacers could not hold off Immaculata University as the Mighty Macs took an important Colonial States Athletics Conference men's basketball victory Monday night with a hard-fought 71-63 win at the Insalaco Arena.  Both teams now stand at 7-10 in league play and hold a slight chance at grabbing the sixth playoff spot with a win and some help Wednesday.

Immaculata (9-15) jumped out to an early 8-2 lead but Marywood charged right back, scoring the next five points before a layup from Rob Siter put the visitors back up three.  The Mighty Macs' lead would grow to as many as eight (21-13) with nine minutes left but again Marywood rallied, cutting the lead to just one on a jumper from Brent Keyes to make it 21-20 with 5:37 to go.

Immaculata maintained a slim lead heading into the locker room, up 31-26 thanks to 6-for-8 shooting from long range. Marywood, who went 2-for-23 from 3-point range in their loss to Baptist Bible Saturday, remained cold from long distance, connecting on just 1 of 7 attempts in the opening half.

After a three from Immaculata's Todd Stokley put the visitors up six with just over ten left, Marywood trimmed the Mighty Macs' lead to one several times before finally jumping ahead on Keyes' trey.  But from there Immaculata used the charity stripe to reclaim the lead and hold the Pacers at bay, sinking 13 of 14 freebies down the stretch to secure the win.

Siter led Immaculata by tying for a game-high with 17 points.  11 of those came from the free throw line. Stokley (14 points), Kendell Peters (12 points) and Nelson Torres (11 points) all reached double-figures for the visitors in the win.

Ryan Corrigan tied Siter's game-high with 17 on 7 of 11 shooting including a 3 of 6 effort from behind the arc.  Matt Lepri (14 points) and Keyes (12) also had double-digit nights.

Marywood closes out the regular season with a must-win game at Neumann University Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 pm.
