In a 10-2 opening game win, Freda struck out 11 in a complete-game effort while Aikens followed with a three-hitter in the nightcap as the Pacers won 15-0. Marywood improves to 8-5 (3-0 CSAC) while Philadelphia Biblical fell to 0-11 (0-3 CSAC). Marywood built a 3-0 lead after four innings of play in the opener and that would be all the offensive help Freda (2-0) would need as he allowed just one two runs (one earned) in the bottom of the sixth. Freda's 11 strikeouts came within one of tying the school record of 12 in a seven inning game. It is the second time this season Freda has fanned 11 batters in a seven inning game as he also did that in a 5-1 win over Susquehanna on opening day. Jonathan Woytach and Nicholas Pasqualichio each went 2-for-4 with Woytach leading the Pacers with a trio of RBI. Woytach had a double as part of his day while Pasqualichio had the lone long-ball of the afternoon. In the nightcap, Aikens allowed just three scattered hits and struck out five to improve to 1-1 on the year. Marywood broke the game open early in this game, plating all 15 runs by the end of inning four. Pasqualichio, Dan Downton and Josh Plisko all had doubles, while Pasqualichio added a triple as part of his 3-for-5, three RBI nightcap.
