Immaculata, PA – Marywood University reeled off their seventh consecutive victory and now stand at 4-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference action as the Pacers downed host Immaculata University 13-5 in CSAC baseball action Friday afternoon in Scranton.  The Pacers, now 12-5 overall, got 22 hits in the win while limiting the Mighty Macs (4-9, 1-3) to just six.

Immaculata jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom half on the first after a pair of walks and three singles.  After a scoreless second, Marywood got on the board in the third when David Maione scored on a throwing error when Mike Pinelli was sacrifice bunting to push Maione to second and Josh Plisko to third.  Three consecutive RBI singles from Mike Diskin, Jonathan Woytach and Nicholas Pasqualichio completed a four-run inning for the Pacers as they grabbed a 4-3 lead.

In the bottom of the third, however, the Mighty Macs would reclaim the lead when designated hitter Matt Bolden hit a two-run double to left to put the hosts up 5-4.  The Pacers would even things up in the top of the sixth on a RBI single from Plisko that would score Chris Ortiz.  Unfortunately the Pacers would leave runners stranded on second and third to end the inning without reclaiming the lead.

In the seventh, Marywood loaded the bases with one out after hit batsman (Pasqualichio) and a pair of singles from Shane Miller and Ortiz.  Designated hitter Anthony Castellano then singled in the go-ahead run for Marywood, and Maione and Plisko would pick up the Pacers' fourth and fifth consecutive singles of the inning to put Marywood up 8-5.

The Pacers would go up 12-5 in with a four run eighth highlighted by a Pasqualichio RBI double and would tack on one more run in the ninth on a Miller RBI single.

After a shaky first inning, Nicholas DeFebo finished strong, allowing five runs on six hits while picking up the complete game win to improve to 3-0.  DeFebo, fresh off a school record 17 strikeout performance last Friday against Philadelphia Biblical, fanned 10 batters today in the win.  The Mighty Macs could not score again since they held a 5-4 lead after the third.

At the plate, Pasqualichio finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.  Miller, who was 5-for-5 against King's Tuesday, went 4-for-6 with a RBI and two runs scored.  Every batter in the Pacers' lineup had at least one hit with seven having multi-hit performances.

Marywood returns to action tomorrow when they host the Mighty Macs in a twin-bill.  Due to expected rain later in the afternoon, game one will begin at 11:00am.
