Marywood Snaps Skid with CSAC Win

Scranton, PA - Marywood University made quick work of visiting Immaculata University in men's tennis action to snap a five-game losing skid and to open their CSAC title defense with a win as the Pacers blanked the Mighty Macs 9-0 Friday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood improved to 2-5 overall (1-0 CSAC) with the win while Immaculata fell to 0-6 (0-2 CSAC).

Marywood allowed just one point in doubles play as the Pacers' one and three teams each won 8-0.  Todd Doran and Evan Bolus teammed up at one-doubles to down Demetrios Vlahos and T.J. Klinger while Ethan Jones and Ryan Mulqueen beat William DeSantis and Todd Stokley at three-doubles.  Marywood's two-doubles team of Wyatt Noland and Daniel Pfafman also won easily, 8-1.

In singles play, Doran was a 6-2, 6-1 victor over Vlahos in the top singles spot while Bolus followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Eric Schmidt at two-singles.  Pfafman won 6-2, 6-2 at three-singles while Mulqueen beat Joe Walker 6-1, 6-1 at four-singles.  Jones and Nolan each won at five and six singles, respectively.

Marywood next takes on Gwynedd-Mercy College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
