Scranton, PA - Immaculata's Bryan McHale struck out nine and allowed just three hits to help the Mighty Macs snap Marywood's seven-game winning streak with a 4-0 victory Sunday, but the Pacers bounced back with nine runs over two innings to take a 9-7 victory in the nightcap.  Marywood, winners of seven of their last eight games, moves to 13-6 (5-1 CSAC) while Immaculata now stands at 5-10 (2-4 CSAC).

In the opener, McHale was dominant, facing just 22 batters in the game while carrying a perfect game into the sixth inning.  There, with Immaculata holding a 3-0 lead, Marywood's Josh Plisko broke up the perfect game with a single to right but the Pacers could not score a run.  The visitors tacked on one more in the seventh for the 4-0 win, snapping Marywood's seven game winning streak in the process.

McHale got the win to even his record at 1-1 while Tim Freda, who pitched well for the Pacers, took the loss.  Freda (2-1) struck out five and allowed just five hits over 6.2 innings of work.  Plisko, Mike Diskin and Jonathan Woytach got the lone hits for Marywood in the game.

In the nightcap, Marywood jumped out to a 5-0 lead with an impressive five-run burst in the third. After Mike Pinelli was hit by a pitch and stole second, Mike Diskin singled him home to put Marywood up 1-0. Nicholas Pasqualichio bunted Diskin in while reaching safely himself then Shane Miller tripled to center field to score Pasqualichio.  Miller would score on a  Chris Ortiz sacrifice fly to center, and another run would score on an error.

Marywood would give up three runs in the top half of the next inning but would then go up 9-3 with four runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth highlighted by a two-run double from David Maione

Despite giving up a two-run homer in the sixth and a solo blast in the seventh, Marywood hung on for the 9-7 win.  Ryan Pelle got his first win on the mound this season after going five innings.  Pelle (1-2) struck out two and allowed five runs on 12 hits.  Michael Ciavarella struck out two and allowed two runs on four hits over two innings.

Steve Wade finished the second game 3-for-4  with an RBI while Maione was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Marywood returns to action Monday when they host Lebanon Valley College at 3:30 pm.
