LaPlume, PA - Marywood University used a four-run fourth inning and held off 10th-ranked Keystone College behind the arm of junior pitcher Nicholas DeFebo as the Pacers downed the Giants 4-3 in Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball action Friday afternoon in LaPlume.  DeFebo improved to 4-0 on the mound with a complete-game, six strikeout performance, as Marywood moved to 14-7 (6-1 CSAC) while handing the Giants (10-4, 3-1 CSAC) their first CSAC setback of the year.

Trailing 1-0 early, Marywood got all the scoring they would need, and get, for the game in the fourth.  Jonathan Woytach singled to right to start the inning and Nicholas Pasqualichio walked.  After Shane Miller walked to load the bases, Chris Ortiz hit a two-run single to left to score Woytach and Pasqualichio as the Pacers took a 2-1 lead.  A wild pitch would move Miller and Ortiz to third and second, and Dan Downton would follow with an RBI single to right to score Miller.  Josh Plisko would later get a sacrifice RBI on a hit back to the pitcher as Ortiz scored.

Keystone would get one more in the fifth and one more in the sixth, but could not complete the comeback as DeFebo was solid all game long.  DeFebo went all nine innings on the mound to get his fourth victory of the year, yielding just six hits and two earned runs while fanning six.

Ortiz finished with the two RBI while Woytach was 2-for-4.

The Pacers will host the Giants in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon.
