Orlando, FL - Marywood University came up just short in their quest to leave Florida with a win but the Pacers ultimately fell 5-4 to Alfred University in men's tennis action Friday morning.  The Pacers, now 1-4 on the year, were winless in their trip to Orlando in four tries.  Marywood will look to get back on the winning side of things when they host Lebanon Valley College next Sunday, March 18, at 1:00pm.

Marywood trailed 2-1 after doubles action.  Alfred won at one and three doubles but the Pacers' duo of Wyatt Nolan and Daniel Pfafman pulled out a 9-8 win thanks to a 7-3 victory in the tiebreaker.

In singles play, Marywood got victories from Todd Doran, Pfafman and Nolan at one, three and six, respectively, but came up short.  Doran defeated Nick Schneider in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 7-5), but Nathan Garletts topped Evan Bolus at two-singles in three sets as well to put the Saxons back up.  Bolus fell 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 0-6.

Pfafman earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at three-singles but Alfred responded with wins at four and five singles to secure the five points.  At four singles, Ryan Mulqueen also lost in a three-set match, falling to Stefan Nonnemann 4-6, 6-2, 4-6.  Nolan won his match at six-singles over Michael Graham, 6-2, 6-1.
