Carly Leitzel picked up an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win at 2-singles against her D2 opponent Sunday Marywood Edged by D2 East Stroudsburg, 5-4 Women's Tennis - 4/15/2012 3:58:00 PM Match Results East Stroudsburg, PA - Marywood University won four of six singles matches but were swept in doubles play as the Pacers fell to Division II East Stroudsburg University 5-4 Sunday afternoon in women's tennis action. ESU improved to 5-16 overall while Marywood saw their record slip to 11-6. Marywood got an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory from Carly Leitzel at two-singles as the Pacers hung tough all afternoon. After losing two doubles matches by a close 8-6 margin, Marywood fell behind 3-0 entering singles play when their one doubles duo of Leitzel and Melissa Hudock lost to ESU's Amanda Kaufman and Allison Bean, 8-1. In two doubles, Beth Longenhagen and Rabecca Lausch edged Marywood's Kara Hoff and Megan Nastelli, while Annie Vega and Taylor Presby defeated Linday Burke and Beth Schneider at three-doubles. Marywood got back into the match in singles play, winning four of six matches. Leitzel led the way by blanking Bean at two-singles, and the Pacers got a victory from Burke at three-singles when she defeated Lausch 6-2, 7-5. In four-singles action, Schneider beat Longenhagen 6-3, 6-3, and Nastelli earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Vega in five-singles play. Unfortunately, the Warriors picked up wins at one and six singles to secure the victory. Kaufman beat Hoff in the top singles flight 6-0, 6-0 while Presby was victorious over Hudock, 6-3, 6-4.
