McKeown Records 300th Career Point in Win Over Immaculata

Scranton, PA -  Taylor McKeown scored five goals to record the 300th point of her collegiate career and lead Marywood University to a 22-11 win over Immaculata University in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action on Tuesday evening.  The senior attacker also moved into 11th place among all-time goal scorers in NCAA Division III history as the Pacers improved to 9-3 this spring with the victory and 6-0 in conference play.
 
Marywood built an 8-2 lead over the first 15:50 of Tuesday night's game, but Immaculata rattled off five-straight goals to cut the Pacers' lead to 8-7 with 1:08 remaining in the first half.  McKeown halted the Mighty Macs' run by scoring unassisted with 17 seconds left in the opening half and the hosts held the 9-7 lead at halftime.
 
The Pacers extended their advantage to 11-7 by tallying the first two goals of the second stanza, but Immaculata netted three-straight markers to cut Marywood's lead to 11-10 with 26:44 left in the regulation.  Marywood responded by rattling off eight unanswered goals, capped by McKeown's fifth goal of the game and 300th career point, with 6:10 remaining to give the hosts a comfortable, 19-10 cushion.  The goal was the 271st of McKeown's career, placing her in 11th place all-time, just one goal shy of 10th place.

The Mighty Macs would find the net one final time with five and a half minutes to play before the Pacers closed out the scoring with the final three tallies of the night.
 
Diana D'Achille also scored five goals for Marywood and led the team with seven draw controls and five groundballs.  Sarah Caughy added four points on three goals and one assist while Brooke Bondurant and Kimberly Commisso each recorded hat-tricks for the Pacers, who held a commanding, 49-19 advantage in shots for the game. 
 
Kelly Kryspin, Kathy DiGiacomo, and Lauren Indelicato also scored for the Pacers, who also got an assist from Dana Grossjung.  Commisso led the squad with three caused turnovers while Kryspin also picked up five groundballs as Marywood held a 31-23 edge in groundballs on the evening. 
 
Leigha Dolcemascolo made eight saves in goal for the Pacers to notch her ninth win of the season.
 
The Mighty Macs, who fell to 3-11 this spring and 1-6 in the CSAC with the loss, were led by Katie Cook (4 goals) and Emily Hallett (3 goals, 1 assist), who both had four points.  Britt Worthington made 21 saves in goal for the Mighty Macs over the course of the game.
 
Marywood will host Lycoming College on Thursday evening in a non-conference contest slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.  The game will be televised live on Comcast channel 11 (Scranton area), Service Electric channel 4 (Wilkes-Barre area), Direct TV HD or DishNetwork channel 53 or over the air on channel 53.1.  The broadcast will also be simulcast live on MyFoxNEPA.com.
