Scranton, PA - Kyle Frank recorded six points to lead the University of Scranton to a 10-6 victory over Marywood University in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Scranton's Fitzpatrick Field.  The Royals boost their record to 8-4 on the season with the win while the Pacers, who were led by Marcus Janda's two goals, fall to 7-6 overall this spring.
 
Sam Trill gave Marywood a 1-0 lead just six seconds into the contest after taking a pass from Brandon Terlizzi who won the game's opening draw before setting up Trill.  Back-to-back goals by Scranton's Kyle Frank gave the Royals a 2-1 lead with 9:59 remaining in the opening frame, but Riley Dobel knotted the score up at 2-apiece  with 1:51 left in the period off a Ryan Nowell helper.
 
Scranton got goals from three different players in the first 2:21 of the second period to claim a 5-2 advantage before Janda scored unassisted to cut Marywood's deficit to 5-3.  The Royals would hold the two-goal advantage heading into the halftime break.
 
The Royals potted the first four goals of the third period, extending their lead to 9-3 when Dillon McInerney scored with 3:43 left in the period.  Janda halted the hosts' run by  netting his second goal of the contest with 2:15 showing on the clock with Dylan Swope assisting on the play and Derek Schmidt scored unassisted with just eight seconds remaining in the quarter to cut the Pacers' deficit to 9-5 heading into the final 15 minutes of play.
 
Frank's fifth goal of the game at the 13:57 mark of the fourth quarter stretched Scranton's lead to 10-5 before Joe LaBella closed out the scoring for Marywood  with the Pacers on a man-up opportunity with 2:14 to play.
 
The Royals, who held a 37-24 advantage in shots for the contest, got a game-high six points on five goals and one assist from Franks.  Kevin Brier (2 goals, 1 assist) and Daniel Slade (3 assists) added three points apiece for Scranton, who won 12 of the game's 17 face-offs while also winning the groundball battle by a 45-40 margin. 
 
Ben Worthington went the distance in goal for Scranton, making four saves to notch the victory.
 
Nick Johnson had a solid game defensively for the Pacers, collecting game-highs of four caused turnovers and seven groundballs.  Chris Vogel added five groundballs and Chris Riley picked up four of his own for Marywood, who got 11 saves from Nicholas Cornella.
 
Marywood returns to action on Saturday afternoon at home against Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Shenandoah University at 1:00 p.m.  The Pacers will honor the team's 12 seniors prior to the start of Saturday's contest.
