Scranton, PA - Kayla Prompovitch and Meghin Palmer each went 6-for-8 at the plate and Marywood had 23 total hits while limiting Baptist Bible to 10 as the Pacers took an important CSAC doubleheader from the Defenders with a pair of wins Monday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood won the opener 11-3 in six innings before closing out BBC 8-3 in the nightcap.  The Pacers improved to 9-11 overall and 7-1 in CSAC action while BBC fell to 12-8 and were handed their first two league losses (6-2).

In the opener, Marywood held a early 2-0 lead after two innings but the Defenders rallied with back-to-back homers in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead.  After a Karin Mowry single to start the inning, Hannah Strayer hit a two-run shot over the right field fence to tie the game and Stephanie Kreiser followed with another blast to right to give BBC the lead.

The Pacers, however, responded with a six-run fifth to put the game away and added three more in the sixth to put the 8-run rule into effect.  Prompovitch was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the opener while Ashley Dommes added a double.  Kim Lope and Diana Butash each had triples for the Pacers.

Katherine King (3-3) went the distance on the mound for Marywood, striking out six while allwoing just four hits to get the win.  Jenna Bont took the loss for the Defenders, falling to 7-2 on the year after allowing eight earned runs over 5.2 innings.

In the nightcap, Marywood's early lead was never in jeopardy as the Pacers allowed just single runs over the second, third and fourth innings while tacking on six of their own over the stretch.  Prompovitch had a double and triple in the game for Marywood as did BBC's Mowry.  Mariah Runco added a double for the Pacers, who got a complete-game from Kaitlyn Jones on the mound.

Jones allowed two earned runs on six hits while fanning seven batters to improve to 3-3.  Kacee Rava took the loss for Baptist Bible, allowing five earned runs while striking out five.  Palmer was 4-for-4 in the nightcap for Marywood while Kim Lope was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Marywood returns to action on April 9th when they visit Gwynedd-Mercy College.  The CSAC doubleheader is slated for a 3:00pm start.
