Scranton, PA - Marywood University set a new program record with their 20th and 21st wins as the Pacers defeated Baptist Bible College in both ends of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  Shane Miller and Nicholas Pasqualichio each enjoyed outstanding days as the Pacers beat the Defenders 6-5 in the opener and 14-0 in the nightcap.  Marywood now stands at 21-12 on the year, besting the program record of 19 wins set in the 2002 season, while Baptist Bible fell to 5-19 on the year.

In the opener, after a slow start where BBC scored four times in the opening inning, Marywood slowly chipped away at the Defenders' lead and eventually tied the game in the third when Steve Wade singled to center, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, stole third and eventually scored on a passed ball.

Marywood gave one back in the top fo the fourth when a failed pickoff attempt at first base resulted in a three base error and a run for the visitors, but the Pacers plated two in the bottom of the sixth on a Dan Downton RBI single and Dominic Loughlin RBI double to take the 6-5 win.

John Stolan started for the Pacers and went 3.1 innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits while striking out two.  Mike Siciliano (3-0) picked up the win after going 3.2 innings in relief, striking out four while allowing no hits and just one base runner.

Marywood's bats exploded in the nightcap as the Pacers scored 14 runs on 15 hits.  Nicholas Pasqualichio was 3-for-4 with two homers, a double and five RBI while Shane Miller went 3-for-4 with two RBI and fell just a single short of hitting for the cycle.

Jason Aikens (2-3) got the win after allowing just four hits over six innings while fanning seven batters.  Ryan Pelle pitched the final inning, striking out all three batters he faced.

Marywood returns to action Sunday when they host King's College in a single nine inning game at 12:00 noon.
