Men's Tennis Reaches 3rd Straight CSAC Title Match

Easton, PA - Marywood University reached a third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship match as the top-seeded Pacers blanked fourth-seed Neumann University 6-0 in the opening semifinal of the 2012 CSAC Men's Tenns Championship tournament Friday afternoon at Northwood Racquet Club in Easton.  Marywood will look for their third consecutive CSAC title and NCAA automatic bid when they face #3 Baptist Bible College in a rematch of last year's Championship Saturday. 

The Pacers, now 10-5 on the year and winners of nine straight matches, made quick work of the Knights.  Marywood's one-doubles team of Evan Bolus and Todd Doran mproved to 10-4 as a duo on the year with a 8-1 win over Bryan Bodine and Dustin Broom.  At three-doubles, Marywood's Ethan Jones and Ryan Mulqueen defeated Neumann's Joshua McMillion and Andrew Raimundo by an identical score.  At two-doubles, Wyatt Nolan and Daniel Pfafman improved to 11-4 on the year as a team with an 8-5 win over Zane Buckley and Stephen Moran.

In singles play, Doran, Bolus and Pfafman all won by a 6-0, 6-1 count at one through three singles, respectively, to close out the match and the 6-0 win for the Pacers.  Mulqueen was ahead of McMillon at four singles by a score of 6-2, 1-0 and Jones was ahead of Raimundo 6-0, 2-0 before the match was called.  Nolan's six-singles match against Moran never got started.

The 2012 CSAC title match is slated for a 2:00pm start on Saturday.
