Scranton, PA - Marywood University pounded out 32 hits and scored 26 runs as the Pacers swept visiting Philadelphia Biblical University 9-1 in five innings and 17-1 in four and half innings Friday afternoon in Scranton.  Kim Lope was a perfect 8-for-8 at the plate on the day as Marywood snapped a three-game skid with the wins and improved to 18-14 on the year, 16-4 in CSAC action.  The Crimson Eagles saw their record fall to 5-33, 2-18 CSAC with the losses.

In the opener, Marywood jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after two innings and added two more in the fourth, but Philadelphia Biblical broke up the shutout bid with a run in the fifth, forcing Marywood to score twice in the bottom of the fifth to put the eight run rule into effect.

Lope was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored to lead the Pacers offensively in the opener. Meghin Palmer and Ashley Dommes each went 2-for-3 with Palmer picking up a triple and Dommes a double.  Mariah Runco also doubled for the Pacers and Diana Butash was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Alexandra Stine went five full innings on the mound to get the complete game win.  Stine allowed just one run, which was unearned, on three hits while striking out five batters for her team-leading seventh win over the year (7-4).

In the nightcap, Lope again went 4-for-4, this time crossing the plate four times and adding two RBI as Marywood rolled to the 17-1 win.  The Pacers scored four runs in the first and second innings each, then blasted out nine in the third.  Kellsie Davis went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple to bring in five runs while Ashley Dommes was 3-for-4 with a homer and double.  Jillian Flanagan was also 3-for-4 with three RBI. 

Katherine King improved to 6-4 on the mound with a complete-game win, throwing five innings and allowing one run on five hits while striking out five.

Marywood closes out the CSAC portion of their regular season schedule tomorrow when they travel to take on Notre Dame University of Maryland just outside of Baltimore. Game time is set for 12:00pm.
