Marywood Falls to St. Mary's and Marymount at Knights Invitational

Aston, PA – St. Mary's College of Maryland and Marymount University kept Marywood University's volleyball team winless at this weekend's Knights Invitational tournament hosted by Neumann University as the Pacers dropped a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon.  Marywood sees their record drop to 6-6 this season as the team's losing streak extended to five after a 6-1 start to the fall campaign.

St. Mary's won the first set of Saturday's match-up 25-16 before the Pacers leveled the match at 1-1 with a 25-23 decision in game two.  The Seahawks answered with wins of 25-15 and 25-21 to seal their sixth win of the season.
 
Marywood was led by Amy Kester, who recorded team-highs of nine kills and six block assists.  Ashley Zalewski, Kathleen Reilly, and Ashley Cavellier contributed six kills apiece in the loss.
 
Kelly Chadwick led the Pacers with 31 assists while Sara Melick added five block assists for the match.

Marywood jumped out to a two games to none advantage over Marymount in Saturday's nightcap with wins of 25-23 and 25-19 before the Saints rattled off wins of 25-20, 25-20, and 15-4 to rally for the win.

Zalewski led Marywood with 15 kills while Melick added 12 on the loss.  Cavellier and Kester knocked down eight kills apiece while Chadwick led the squad with 47 assists.

Rachel Tollett and Mackenzie Goodwin had 11 digs apiece to lead the Pacers while Jessica Lynne Swida chipped in eight digs.  Kester added four solo blocks and eight block assists while Cavellier collected five block assists against Marymount.
 
The Pacers will resume the Colonial States Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Thursday when they host Immaculata University in a match scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Marywood' Insalaco Arena.
