Dallas, PA - Marywood University's men's tennis team made a strong statement to open the 2012-13 season as the Pacers blanked host Misericordia University 9-0 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon in Dallas.  Marywood's Ryan Mulqueen was in the tightest set of the day at five-singles play but earned a 7-5, 6-1 win over Tony Goodall to help Marywood to the win. Marywood is now 1-0 while the Cougars are 0-2 after the loss.

Marywood opened doubles play strong as Todd Doran and Evan Bolus earned an 8-1 win at #1 doubles.  Mulqueen and Frank Nicolosi won by an identical score at #3 doubles while Daniel Pfafman and Ethan Jones were 8-2 victors at #2 doubles.

In singles play, Pfafman beat Sal Saraniti 6-1, 6-3 in the top flight while Doran beat Nick Hershey 6-2, 6-4 at #2 singles.  Bolus blanked his opponent at #3 singles 6-0, 6-0 while Jones and Nicolosi both won 6-1, 6-0 at four and six singles, respectively.

Marywood returns to action next weekend when they participate in the University of Scranton's individual tournament.  No team results occur at the event.
