Edwardsville, PA - Wilkes University improved to 2-0 on the year and handed Marywood University their first loss of the season as the host Colonels blanked the Pacers 9-0 in non-conference women's tennis action Sunday afternoon at Kirby Park in Edwardsville.  Marywood's Carly Leitzel did her best to get the Pacers a point on the afternoon, but fell 10-3 in a third-set supertiebreaker to Wilkes' Alexis Donner.

After Wilkes swept doubles action in easy fashion and Melanie Nolt won for the Colonels at one-singles, Leitzel, who entering Sunday's match had not lost a singles match this year, jumped out to a one set lead with a 6-3 win in the opening set against Donner.  Donner responded with a 6-0 win in the second set, and handed Leitzel her first setback of the year with a 10-3 win in the supertiebreaker.

Wilkes then picked up wins at three throug six singles to complete the win.

Marywood returns to action Friday when they travel to nearby Keystone College for a 3:30pm CSAC match against the Giants.
