Scranton, PA - The University of Scranton's women's soccer team used two early goals, including one that came just three minutes into play, as the visiting Royals beat host Marywood 2-0 in non-conference action Wednesday evening on Marywood's turf field.  Scranton (2-4-2) got unassisted tallies from Ellen Walker and Samantha Russo in the win.  Marywood fell to 1-5 with the loss.

Walker scored the game-winner just 3:01 into play as she rebounded her own show that was initially saved by Marywood's Victoria Pezdirtz.  Eleven minutes later, Russo headed in a rebound off her own shot that was deflected off the goal line by Marywood defender Alexandria Fiore.

Scranton out-shot Marywood 17-6 on the evening and had a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal.  The Royals also held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Kelsy McAnelly earned the shutout for Scranton after making three saves.  Pezdirtz (five saves) and Emily Osborne (two saves) each played a half for Marywood.

The Pacers return to action Saturday with a trip to Radnor to take on CSAC foe Cabrini College. Kickoff is set for 4:30pm.
