Mt. Cobb, PA - The University of Scranton men's golf team shot a season-low round of 289 to defeat Marywood University by 19 strokes Friday afternoon at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course in Mount Cobb. Marywood (308) was led by freshman John Lawless, who shot a 75.  Grant Gulick fired a career-low and three-under-par round of 69 to pace the Royals, who broke the 300-stroke barrier for the third time this season. 

Erik Meyer was next in the lineup for Scranton with a 71, followed by Jamie Bresnahan with a 73 and seniors Justin Riley and Charles Hudacek each carded a 76. 

The Royals also received an 80 from Brandon Gano, an 81 from Andrew Loyack, and an 83 from Michael Genello.
John Lawless led Marywood with a 75 and captain Paul Kania and M. Frank Major IV each shot 76.  Rounding out the scoring was Dalton Deardorff with an 81 to give the Pacers a four-score total of 308.

Marywood also received an 84 from Shane Davis, an 85 from Sean Stanley, a 100 from Gaetano Zarra, and a 105 from Andrew Kudasik.

Gulick's 69 today breaks his previous career low round of 70, which he shot against Wilkes University at Huntsville Golf Club in Lehman, Pennsylvania, on September 27, 2011.

Marywood returns to the links on October 3 when they take on Baptist Bible College at Scranton Municipal Golf Course.
