Scranton, PA – Marywood University's volleyball team opened the Marywood Tri-Match on Saturday morning by sweeping Rosemont College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match, 3-0 and went on to defeat Misericorida University in the nightcap, 3-1.  After completing a perfect, three-win week, the Pacers lift their record to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC.   
 
In Saturday's opener, the Pacers won all three sets by identical, 25-8 score lines.  Ashley Zalewski led Marywood with seven kills on 10 attacks as the Pacers recorded an efficient, .362 hitting percentage for the match.  Marywood also recorded 22 service aces in the win, led by Rachel Tollett's seven, six from Mackenzie Goodwin, and four apiece from Amy Kester and Jessica Lynne Swida.
 
Tollett collected a match-high 10 digs in the victory while Kelly Chadwick led the squad with 18 assists as the Pacers notched their second-straight conference win.
 
In Marywood's second match of the day against Misericordia, the Cougars took set one 25-21 before the Pacers leveled the contest at one-apiece with a 25-23 win in game two.  Marywood then took a 2-1 advantage by taking a 25-23 decision in set three and closed out the win with a 25-20 triumph in the fourth set. 
 
Zalewski again led Marywood with 10 kills while Sara Melick collected eight kills as Marywood avenged a 3-0 loss at Misericordia early this season.  Cavellier added six kills while Kester and Kathleen Reilly drove down five kills apiece.
 
Chadwick collected a match-high 33 assists while Tollett led all players with 38 digs in the win.  Zalewski and Kester also collected a pair of solo blocks to lead the Pacers.    
 
Misericordia defeated Rosemont in straight-sets in Saturday's other match, winning by scores of 25-10, 25-17, and 25-16.
 
Marywood resumes the CSAC portion of their schedule on Tuesday when they visit Keystone College for a 7:00 p.m. match-up in La Plume.
