Wilkes-Barre Township, PA - Despite getting two unassisted goals from Julie Kowalski, Marywood fell to host King's College in non-conference field hockey action Tuesday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre.  Kowalski scored in the 11th and 51st minute of play but the Monarchs got a four goal performance from Calli Berryman en route to the win.  Marywood fell to 1-5 with the loss while King's moves to 6-3.

Kowalski put the Pacers up 1-0 on an unassisted marker 10:29 into the game when she carried the ball to the front of the goal and shot through the keepers legs.  King's responded just over 12 minutes later when Berryman scored off a deflected Alyssa Monaghan shot on a penalty corner.  The two teams would go into half knotted at 1-1 with King's holding a 11-7 advantage in shots.

14:27 into the second half, King's grabbed the lead on Berryman's second tally of the afternoon.  Kim Howanitz was credited with the assist.  Marywood responded quickly though, as Kowalski scored just 1:11 later to make it 2-2 when she put in her own rebound from the top of the circle.

The Monarchs and Berryman would pervail though, as Berryman scored in the 55th minute on a rebound and again with just :17 seconds left in the game on a shot in a scramble in front of Marywood's cage.

King's held a 27-10 advantage in shots (21-8 shots on goal) while Megan Withrow made six saves for the Monarchs in the win.  Natalie Winters made 15 saves in the loss.
