Box Score

Immaculata, PA – Marywood University scored a goal in each half and the Pacers' defense allowed just four shots as Marywood shutout host Immaculata University 2-0 Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium in Immaculata.  Marywood improves to 4-4-1 (1-0 CSAC) while Immaculata falls to 0-7 (0-1 CSAC).  The Pacers had a commanding 19-4 edge in shots in the game and got goals from Daniel Lopez and Kris Kassel in the win.

Lopez got the Pacers on the board in the 18th minute of play when he scored his second goal of the season on a rocket from 35 yards out.  Lopez's shot came off the dribble and the freshman placed it in the upper 90 of the goal to beat Immaculata net-minder Chris Raudabaugh.  Despite holding a 9-3 advantage in shots in the opening period, the Pacers would go into halftime with the 1-0 lead.

The Pacers quickly changed that in the second half as Christian Lawlor found Kassel just 7:26 into the frame to put the Pacers up 2-0.  Kassel took Lawlor's cross and flicked it over a defender from Immaculata before scoring from in close for the Pacers' insurance goal.  From there, it was Marywood's Shane Quinn and the Pacers' defense that kept the Mighty Macs off the board, allowing just four shots in total and only one on frame.  Despite taking 19 shots, Marywood only put four on goal for the game.

Quinn made one save to earn his first shutout of the year.  Raudabaugh made two saves for Immaculata in the loss.

Marywood returns to action on October 3 when they host Centenary College in CSAC action at 7:00pm.
