Scranton, PA - Visiting Richard Stockton College used two goals in each half as the visiting Ospreys, who are currently ranked 6th in the NSCAA South Atlantic Region poll, beat host Marywood 4-1 on Marywood's homecoming day.  Stockton improved to 8-2-1 with the win while Marywood, who got a goal from Siobhan Blancaflor, fell to 2-6-1.  On the year, five of Marywood's six blemishes have come to teams that are either regionally or nationally ranked.

An even back and forth opening twenty minutes did not produce great looks for either teams, but Stockton quickly changed that in the 21st minute of play when Rachel Carlson broke away from the Pacers defense and beat Victoria Pezdirtz on a breakaway to give the Osprey's a 1-0 lead.

Marywood held the visitors in check for the next fifteen minutes, but in the 36th minute Marywood was called for a questionable foul just outside the 18 yard box.  Briana Fischer caught the Pacers and Pezdirtz off guard as they were trying to set a wall and played a quick direct kick to the far post for a 2-0 Stockton advantage.

The visitors would add the games' next two goals, one in the 55th minute by Jessica Balnis on another breakaway and one from Brook Southard at 86:32.  Southard's tally was assisted by Lexi Stasi.

Marywood got on the board just :44 after Southard's goal as Rachel Lamoreaux's shot was initially saved by Osprey net-minder Brittney Boyle but easily put in by an unchallenged Blancaflor in the center of the goal.

For the game, Marywood out-shot the Ospreys 12-11 and had a 5-2 advantage in corners.  Pezdirtz made three saves in 60:37 of action while Emily Osborne played the final 29:23 in goal for the Pacers.  For Richard Stockton, Sarah Hinkle got the win with four saves an no goals allowed in 80:16.  Boyle played the final 9:44 and made four stops.

Marywood looks to return to the win column Tuesday when they travel to Langhorne to take on Cairn University in CSAC action at 4:00pm.
