Scranton, PA - Kean University netted five second half goals to break open an otherwise tight game as the visiting Cougars beat host Marywood 7-0 in non-confernence field hockey action Wednesday evening in Scranton.  Veronica Pogorzelski and Claire Keenan each had two goals for the Cougars while Laura Cheatham had a goal and two assists.

Kean opened the scoring just 4:19 into the contest when Pogorzelski scored on a Cheatham assist.  Pogorzelski then doubled the visitor's lead at the 16:23 mark with an unassisted tally, but Marywood's defense and goalkeeper Natalie Winters (eight first half saves) kept the Cougars at bay for the rest of the opening stanza.

Kean eventually wore down the Pacers though, scoring in the 41st mintue (Cheatham), 42nd minute (Marissa Robinson), 45th minute (Stephanie Soares) and 46th minute (Keenan) to break open the game.  Keenan added Kean's last goal at the 62:08 mark as well.

Winters made eight saves in 45:58 of action while Erin Dawson made two stops in 24:02 of play.  Kean's Erin Langan (four saves), Katie DiCarlo (one save) and Gabriella Krowitz all split time and the shutout win.

Marywood returns to action Saturday at 4:00pm when they host Arcadia University in non-conference action.
