Scranton, PA - Nicole Snyder scored two unassisted goals, including what turned out to be the game winner just 2:31 into the second half, as Lebanon Valley College got their first win of the 2012 season with a 2-1 victory over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in the 2nd Annual Joe Bochicchio Memorial Classic.  Jessica Cosentino scored Marywood's goal midway through the second half, but a late charge by the Pacers came up short as they fell to 0-3.

After a solid 25 minutes of even play, Lebanon Valley got on the board in the 29th minute when Snyder rebounded her own close range shot that was saved by Marywood's Victoria Pezdirtz to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.  Pezdirtz and the Pacers' defense kept Marywood in the game the rest of the half despite being out-shot 11-2 in the opening frame.

Marywood took possession to start the second half, but failed to register a shot on an attack which was quickly countered by LVC.  Snyder again took charge, this time ripping a shot from just outside the 18 that just eluded both Pezdirtz and the crossbar, finding the back of the netting to make it 2-0 in favor of the Dutchmen.

With 30 minutes remaining, Marywood began pressing, and the offense picked up play generating several good chances.  Finally, the Pacers broke through in the 70th minute when Cosentino one-timed a Siobhan Blancaflor cross past LVC's Becca Sykes to make it 2-1.

With time winding down and through a torrential rain, Marywood was awarded a corner kick in the final 20 seconds.  With all eleven players attacking the 18-yard box, Angela Heydt's perfectly placed ball avoided the head of Marywood's Pezdirtz and Rachel Lamoreaux before Sykes ran it down in the corner of the 18 to preserve the win.

For the day, LVC out-shot Marywood 19-7 but shots on goal were only 8-6 in favor of the Dutchmen.  Sykes made five stops in the win while Pezdirtz had six saves.

In the other opening round game, Scranton led Ithaca 2-1 at the 80:15 mark but after a weather delay the Bombers rallied with two late goals, one to tie and force overtime and the second, the game-winner, in the second overtime as Ithaca won, 3-2.  Marywood will host #17 Ithaca (2-1) tomorrow at 1:00pm.  Scranton will host LVC, also at 1:00pm.
