Scranton, PA – Marywood University's volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins on Saturday at the Scranton Invitational host by the University of Scranton as the Pacers finished the weekend winning three of four contests at the tournament.  Rachel Tollett was named to the All-Tournament Team after establishing a new school record for digs in a career as Marywood defeated the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in three sets on Saturday before topping Wilkes 3-2.
 
The Pacers made quick work of the Pitt Bradford, winning by scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-17.
 
Amy Kester led Marywood with 10 kills while the Pacers got eight kills and two aces from Ashley Cavellier and seven kills from Sara Melick
 
Kelly Chadwick dished out a match-best 27 assists while Tollett paced the squad with 15 digs and four aces.  Mackenzie Goodwin added 11 digs in the Pacers' victory.
 
In Saturday's nightcap, Wilkes claimed set one 25-20 before Marywood took a 2-1 advantage with wins of 25-16 and 26-24.  The Colonels forced a fifth frame with a narrow, 25-23 decision in game four, but the Pacers cruised in the fifth set, 15-4, to notch their third-straight win.
 
Ashley Zalewski paced Marywood's attack against Wilkes with 11 kills while Melick put down 10 kills.  Kester finished the match with nine kills and six blocks.
 
Chadwick handed out 44 assists and added 13 digs and seven aces against the Colonels.  Tollett again led the squad with 33 digs while Jessica Lynne Swida collected 15 digs.  Cavellier chipped in 12 digs and three aces and Goodwin also finished with 12 digs.
 
Marywood is back in action on Monday night when they take on Misericordia University in non-conference play.  First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Dallas, PA.
