Scranton, PA - Marywood University's men's and women's swimming programs rebounded from tough losses on Saturday to Susquehanna University with dominating performances against Cabrini College, as the men topped the Cavaliers 156-83 and the women were 162-76 victors.  The men's team improved to 3-8 while the women move to 4-9.  Cabrini fell to 4-7 (men) and 1-11 (women). For the day, Marywood placed first through third in nine total events, five on the women's side and four on the men's.

Marywood's men's and women's 200 medley relay teams got the Pacers off to strong starts as both won in the meet's first event.  On the women's side, Kayleigh Velott, Cara Cassandro, Kara Hoff and Katie Paterson touched in 2:04.32 for the win while on the men's side Michael Stauffer, Chris Brown, Andy Blevins and Daniel Adams won in a time of 1:44.61.  Marywood also finished second in the men's 200 medley relay with the team of Alex Martino, Paul Kremsner, Jason Beabout and Ryan Widenor finishing in 1:51.78. 

In the 1000 free, Paterson continued her season long domination of the event with a winning time of 12:01.56 while teammates Olivia Hower (12:29.56) and Amber Sharkey (12:56.43) finished second and third, respectively.  Marywood also took first through third in the men's 1000 free led by Haney's time of 10:40.17.  Pisano finished second with a time of 11:26.03 and Martino touched third in 11:29.08.  

Beabout won the men's 200 free in a time of 1:51.55 while Blevins finished second in 1:54.30.  In the 100 backstroke, Velott won the women's race in 1:09.41 while Brian Shanahan (58.85), Stauffer (1:00.31) and Haney (1:00.51) finished 1-3.  Cassandro (1:21.19) and Paterson (1:23.55) finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 breaststroke for the women while Brown finished second on the men's side in 1:07.60. 

In the men's 50 butterfly, Marywood took first through third place with strong efforts from Widenor (25.42), Blevins (25.55) and Adams (26.18) while the women would finish second through fourth  as Sharkey touched in 30.11, Hoff in 30.17 and Alyssa Desiderio in 32.38. 

Pisano won the men's 50 free in 22.96 while the women took first through third led by a 27.47 from Kim PetersenValerie Barlow finished second in 27.57 and Acampora touched third in 29.05.  That 1-3 finish would be one of four consecutive for the Pacer women, as they did the exact same thing in the 100 free (won by Paterson in 59.09), the 50 backstroke (Hower in 32.83) and 50 breaststroke (Peterson in 34.35). 

The men would touch 1-3 in the 50 back and 50 breast as well, led by Stauffer (26.98) in the back and Pisano (31.95) in the breast.  Paterson (5:43.83) and Blevins (5:13.35) both won the 500 free.  Hower also won the women's 100 butterfly in 1:09 flat.  Beabout closed out a strong week of swimming for the men with a win in the 200 IM, finishing with the top time of 2:10.41.

In exhibition diving, Marywood got strong performances from Heather Wimmer (190.45) and Katy Alexander (162.70) from the 3-meter boards against the University of Scranton.  Wimmer's 190.45 was the highest score of  her career. 

Marywood returns to the pool on January 19 with a dual meet at Goucher College.  The Pacers' final regular season Landmark Conference meet is set for a 1:00pm start in Baltimore, Maryland.
