Scranton, PA - Marywood University closed out their final regular season swimming and diving meet with a strong showing as both the men's and women's teams defeated visiting Cazenovia College Thursday evening at Marywood's Aquatic Center. The men defeated the Wildcats 155-59 to improve to 5-8 on the year while the women were 159-98 winners, moving their overall mark to 6-9.

The women's 200 yard medley relay team of Olivia Hower, Kim Petersen, Kara Hoff and Katie Paterson won the opening event in a time of 2:00.91.  The men's 200 medley relay team of Brian Shanahan, Chris Brown, Ryan Widenor and Daniel Adams also won, touching first in 1:43.15.

Paterson (11:45.68) and Jason Beabout (10:29.31) each won the 1000 free for the Pacers while Kayleigh Velott, Kimberly Zimmer and Victoria Acampora finished 1-3 for the women in the 200 free.  Zachary Haney and Anthony Pisano finished one-two for the men in the 200.  In the 100 backstroke, Oliva Hower and Keri Bensley finished first and second, respectively, while Adams, Shanahan and Michael Stauffer finished 1-3 in the men's 100 backstroke.

Marywood's men's and women's teams would win the 100 breast, 200 butterfly and 50 free.  Hoff won the 100 free for the women while Adams won it for the men, and Hower and Haney won the 200 backstroke.  Petersen and Pisano won the 200 breaststorke while Heather Wimmer and Katy Alexander finished second and third, respectively, in one-meter diving.

In the 500 free, Velott won in 5:58.69 while Beabout won the men's 500 in 5:17.88. Amber Sharkey and Widenor picked up wins in the 100 butterfly. 

Marywood returns to action on February 8 at the Landmark Conference Championships. For the second year in a row, the Pacers and Marywood University will host the three-day long event.  Tickets to the event will be allocated to each member school and a limited number of session passes will be available.
