Women's Basketball Stymies Gators for 75-27 Victory

Scranton, PA - Morgann Haduck reached double figures in scoring for the fourth consecutive game with a team-high 13 points to lead Marywood University women's basketball to a 75-27 defeat of Notre Dame (Md.). Their fourth-straight victory advances the second-place Pacers to a 9-1 record in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and a 12-7 mark overall. 

Marywood scored the game's first 14 points
 – seven scored by Haduck – in the first 4:17 of play. The Pacers rushed out to a 21-1 lead before the Gators scored their first field goal with 10:47 remaining in the first half off a Heather Lancellotti jumper.

Nora Joyce and Danielle Terranella each contributed 11 points for the Pacers. Maggie Presnal was just shy of a double-double with nine points and nine boards. 

Brittany Mang enjoyed an all-around effort with a season-best seven assists, eight points, and no turnovers. Lindsey Schroth and Courtney Murray also produced eight points. 

Marywood won the turnover battle by a 2-to-1 margin. The Gators committed 28 turnovers to the Pacers' 14. Mang and Schroth each picked four of the Pacers' 15 swipes for the game. Thirty nine of Marywood's points came off turnovers.

The Pacers allowed a season-low 10 field goals, and the Gators shot 20.8 percent (10-for-48). Notre Dame connected on half (4-of-8) of its 3-point shots. Haduck drained three treys for the Pacers. 

Marywoood's lead blossomed to 43-10 at the break. In the first half, the Pacers held a 15-0 advantage on second-chance points.

Notre Dame was led by three players who scored all but two of its points. Lauren Santi led with nine points. Amanda Brenner and Kamelya Medina tallied eight in the scorebook. Danielle Hipkins controlled the paint for the Gators with eight rebounds. 

With Gwynedd-Mercy's 99-77 loss at Rosemont, the Pacers sit alone in second place behind Cabrini. Marywood travels to Neumann University on Monday at 6 p.m. The Pacers don't return to the Insalaco Arena until Feb. 2 when they host Gwynedd-Mercy.
