King's Hands Pacers Fourth Straight Loss

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Marywood University was handed its fourth consecutive loss as the Pacers fell to King's College 83-47 in non-conference men's basketball action to start the second day of the 2013 Cross County Challenge, hosted this year by Wilkes University. The Monarchs rebounded from yesterday's 81-66 set-back to the University of Scranton to pick up their sixth win of the year and move within a game of a .500 record (6-7) while Marywood fell to 2-9 with the loss. Marywood's Kendall Harris was named to the All-Tournament team. 

King's College placed five players in double figures on the night led by Joe Caffrey's team-high 15 points.  Mike Foster (14) and Keyton Winder (13) joined Caffrey in double digits as did Matt Fiorino and Kyle Hammonds who had 11 points apiece. Marywood's Harris had a game-high 18 points in the loss.

For the second consecutive night, the Pacers were cold from the floor, hitting only 7 of 24 shots from the floor in the opening half and 11 of 29 in the second half.  Kign's, meanwhile, connected on 46.5% of their shots, including 55.6 percent in the second.  Marywood's Harris was the only Pacer in double digits for the second consecutive game as well. 

Marywood will resume CSAC action Monday when it hosts Keystone College at the Insalaco Arena at 8 p.m.
