Langhorne, PA - Marywood University women's basketball returned to the winning column with a strong defensive effort in a 68-25 victory over Cairn. The Pacers held the Highlanders to 19 percent field-goal shooting.

Lindsey Scroth made 6-of-7 shots for a game-high 12 points to go with five rebounds. Carly Leitzel and Brittany Mang added eight points apiece.

The Pacers (6-4 overall, 3-0 CSAC) held the Highlanders to the lowest amount of points-allowed in over six seasons. The win marks Marywood's fifth win in its past six games, and the Pacers remain undefeated in conference play.

Maggie Presnal pulled in eight rebounds to lead the Pacers.

Transfers Alexa Gerchman and Nora Joyce made their Pacer debuts in the win. Gerchman, a transfer from Division II Clarion, picked up six rebounds. Joyce totaled seven points in her first game since coming to Marywood from Susquehanna.

Marywood sketched a 29-point lead at halftime, holding the Highlanders to nine points. Cairn connected on just three field goals in the first half.

The Pacers dominated the boards by a 42-25 margin. Marywood nearly grabbed as many offensive rebounds (16) as the Highlanders had defensive rebounds (17).

Marywood returns home to face Delaware Valley College Saturday at 1 p.m.
