Rosemont, PA - Rosemont College went on an 12-point run later in the second half to pull away from Marywood University 70-60 in a battle of CSAC women's basketball unbeatens. The Pacers fall to 4-1 in conference play and 7-6 overall. Marywood shot 32.4 percent from the field for the game after connecting on just a quarter of its shots in the first half. 

Maggie Presnal led the Pacers in scoring with 12 points. Brittany Mang was Marywood's only other representative in double-figures with 10. 

Carly Leitzel championed the backboards with nine rebounds. Leitzel also finished with a team-high four assists. 

The Pacers' foul trouble presaged the Ravens' second-half run. Marywood committed 26 fouls to Rosemont's 16, forcing the Ravens to the charity stripe 37 times. Rosemont held a 27-8 advantage on made free throws.

Rosemont was led by three players with double-doubles. Ashley Montecchio carried the Ravens with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Liz Coyne also grabbed 11 rebounds and scored 21 points. Lauren Whelan produced 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

The game was tied at the 38 apiece with 12:05 remaining in the game before the Ravens took the lead for good. Marywood kept it to within two possessions at 49-44 before Rosemont's 12-point run to give it a 17-point lead with 4:25 on the board.

Following a pair of Courtney Murray free throws to end the drought, the Pacers proceeded to an 11-2 run of their own to trail by six points, 63-57, after a Nora Joyce 3-pointer with 2:30 remaining.  Montecchio scored the game's next six points to punch the Ravens' fifth CSAC win.

Both teams struggled mightily in the early going, accounting for a combined five field goals and 17 turnovers in the first 10 minutes of play. On two consecutive plays, Leitzel aired a ball to Presnal for a layup to give the Pacers its largest lead of the game at six. 

After trailing 28-23 at the break, a seven-point run put the Pacers ahead 36-33 with 14:43 to play. 

Marywood returns home Saturday when it will face Immaculata at 1 p.m.
