Immaculata, PA - Host Immaculata University scored late in the first half and despite being out-shot 17-5 (11-3 on goal) held on for a 1-0 win over Marywood University Saturday afternoon in CSAC women's soccer action.  The Mighty Macs improved to 5-6-2 (4-0-2 CSAC) while Marywood fell to 4-6-3 (4-1-2 CSAC) with the loss. The loss was the Pacers' first regular season conference setback since a 1-0 loss at Neumann on September 24, 2011.

Marywood held an 8-4 advantage in shots in the opening half, placing six on frame, but it was the hosts that broke through and scored first in the 37th minute of play.  Carly Mirachi took the ball to the wing before dribbling in along the endline before finding a streaking Erica Buckley who one-timed Mirachi's drop past in for the eventual game-winner.

In the second half, Marywood picked up the pressure on the Immaculata defense, but the Mighty Macs held firm.  Marywood thought they had the equalizer on several occassions, but could not get one by Meghan McCurnin.

McCurnin made ten saves for the shutout, including one with about 10 seconds left on a point blank re-directed ball.  McCurnin also grabbed the ball off the line in the first half as well.  Victoria Pezdirtz made two saves in the loss for Marywood.

The Pacers will use a week off to heal up before returning to action next Saturday when they travel to Baltimore to take on Notre Dame of Maryland University at 1:00 pm.
