Pacers Move to 5-0 in CSAC, Beat Ravens 5-0

Scranton, PA - It was a day of "fives" for the Marywood University men's soccer team Saturday.  The Pacers got goals from five different players to beat visiting Rosemont College 5-0, improving to 5-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with the win.  Marywood (8-2-2 overall) got a goal and an assist from Christian Lawlor, Daniel Hull and Matthew Hull in the win.  Rosemont fell to 2-12, 1-5 CSAC with the loss.

Kris Kassel got the Pacers on the board at the 21:20 mark when he scored off a feed from Daniel Hull on a corner kick.  Despite dominating the stat sheet, Marywood would settle for a 1-0 halftime lead.  Things changed early in the second half as Daniel Hull scored on a breakaway 3:46 into the second stanza to double the Pacers' lead. 

Three minutes and fifteen seconds later Lawlor netted his goal on a header off a helper from Matthew Hull.  In the 62nd minute, Lawlor and Matthew Hull reversed roles as Hull put home a header pass from Lawlor to make it 4-0 in favor of the hosts.  The Pacers closed the scoring with 1:59 left in the game when Jamie Mangini blasted home a 30-yard direct kick. 

Justin Sunseri made four stops in 69 minutes of action and combined with Pat Brogan (zero saves) for the shutout, Marywood's second consectutive clean sheet.

Marywood returns to action Tuesday when they travel to nearby LaPlume to take on CSAC foe Keystone College at 3:00 pm.
