Immaculata, PA - Marywood University defeated host Immaculata University 7-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's tennis action Saturday afternoon outside Philadelphia.  Marywood moves to 9-1 overall and 8-1 in CSAC play and will hope to secure the #2 seed in the Conference's post-season tournament with a win over Cedar Crest next Friday.  Immaculata fell to 8-8 overall and 6-3 CSAC with the loss.

Marywood built an early 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles action.  At #1 singles, Carly Leitzel and Melissa Hudock downed Lauren Degnan and Paige Sparks 8-0.  At #3 singles, Rebecca Lukasak and Avery McCall continued their impressive freshman campaigns with a 8-1 win over Anna Kambouroglos and Pattie McGinley.  Megan Nastelli and Kristen Lambert won 8-5 for Marywood at #2 doubles.

In singles action, Leitzel made quick work of Degnan in the top singles flight with a 6-1, 6-3 win while Hudock followed suit with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #2 singles.  Nastelli was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at #3 singles and McCall won at #6, 6-0, 6-1.  Immaculata got their two points with a 6-1, 6-4 win from Kambouroglos at #4 over Lambert and a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win from Julie Einwechter over Lukasak at #5. 

Marywood will host Cedar Crest Friday at 3:30 pm. A win will give Marywood the #2 seed in the CSAC semifinals which begin on November 1.
