Aston, PA - Host Neumann University held off visiting Marywood University for a key 2-1 win despite being out-shot by the Pacers by a 12-4 margin.  Marywood (5-7-4, 5-2-3 CSAC) only managed to put four of those shots on frame.  Neumann improved to 8-7-1 (7-2-1 CSAC) with the win and picked up three key points in the race for the CSAC post-season tournament.  Marywood's Kimberly Vogan scored the Pacers lone goal.

Marywood had several chances in the opening thirty minutes of play despite playing against a strong wind.  None of those chances was more dangerous than Alixandria Fiore's 25-yard chip shot that beat Knight goalkeeper Brianna King but found the top of the crossbar instead of the back of the net.

With just over 10 minutes to play in the opening half, Neumann took advantage of a turnover as Marywood was transitioning out of the back.  Alexa DeRose picked up a loose ball and found the foot of Jordyn Agresta who placed a beautiful strike past Victoria Pezdirtz from 18 yards out for the game's first goal.

Marywood continued to generate several chances throughout the second half but were unable to beat King until after the Knights secured a 2-0 lead.  With just over four minutes left, Emily Sanders intercepted a back pass and beat Pezdirtz to provide the eventual game-winner.

Vogan's 30-yard strike beat King two minutes later, but the clock ran out on Marywood before the Pacers could find the game-tying goal.

Marywood returns to action Thursday with a key regular season finale against Keystone College.  Kick-off in LaPlume is set for 3:00 pm.
