Scranton, PA - Misericordia University scored four first half goals en route to a 5-1 win over host Marywood University Thursday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action.  The Cougars (2-8) got two goals from Lindsay Hischak and a goal and assist from both Rebecca Hindman and Allie Elmes in the win. Marywood (1-9) got their lone goal from Gabriella Bower on a feed from Kathryn Morin.

Emily Hegner got the scoring started for the visitors just 5:52 into the contest when she finished a feed from Hindman.  Hindman then doubled the Cougar's at the 8:00 mark when she scored on a helper from Hannah Harvey. 

Misericordia went up 3-0 in the 14th minute on a penalty corner when Hischak scored her first of two consecutive goals with the assist going to Elmes.  Hischak then scored again in the 28th minute unassisted on a reboud to make it 4-0.  Elmes would tally her goal 12 minutes into the second half to close the scoring for the Cougars.

Marywood got on the board with less than five minutes remaining when Bower finished a feed from Morin after a give and go. 

Natalie Winters made eight saves in the loss for Marywood while Misericordia's Angela Pasquini made two stops in 58:59 of action and Jenn Gazdick made one stop in the final 11:01.

Marywood returns to action Saturday with their CSAC opener against Cabrini College. Game time is set for 11:00 am in Scranton.
