Scranton, PA - Marywood University men's soccer racked up four goals in the second half to defeat Immaculata University 5-1 Saturday to remain undefeated in Colonial States Athletic Conference play. Leading by one at halftime, the Pacers scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half to seal the victory. Marywood improves to 5-2-2 overall with a 2-0 record in the CSAC, while the Mighty Macs fall to 1-10 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Kris Kassel led the Pacers with a two-goal performance. Daniel Lopez contributed with two assists. Austin Wright and Thomas McGlennon combined to make five saves in goal.

Kassel put the Pacers on top in the 16th minute when he headed a Lopez direct kick into the net in what would prove to be the only goal of the first half. Marywood managed 13 shots in the first half but failed to convert several key scoring chances.

Things changed 2 minutes, 10 seconds into the second half when the Pacers began to expose the left wing. Jonathan Rottkamp crossed a clean pass to Christian Lawlor. The Immaculata goalkeeper had no chance as Lawlor headed the cross from the weak side to supply Marywood a 2-0 lead.

The Hull brothers wasted no time giving Marywood an additional insurance goal. The two of them found themselves on a four-on-one opportunity. Matthew Hull dished it to his brother Daniel Hull. Daniel Hull scurried it past the Mighty Mac goalkeeper for a three-goal advantage in the 50th minute.

Kassel added his second tally in the 62nd minute from 10 yards out. Exactly two minutes later, Marywood capped its scoring for a 5-0 lead. Lopez airmailed a towering volley from 45 yards out to Casey Peckio. Peckio deflected the ball into the goal from five yards away for his first goal of the season.

Immaculata ended the clean sheet in the 78th minute. Stephan Smith scored on a breakaway opportunity with an assist from Luke Santoni.

Marywood outshot the Mighty Macs by a 27-15 margin and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Marywood had 13 shots on target to Immaculata's six.

The four goals is Marywood's biggest winning margin since a 6-0 win against Baptist Bible College on Oct. 10, 2012.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday at Baptist Bible College at 3:00 pm.
