Radnor, PA - Marywood University's men's swimming team continued their strong start to the 2013-14 season as the Pacers cruised past host Cabrini College 182-46 Sunday afternoon in Radnor.  Marywood's women also had a strong showing, downing the Cavaliers 172-68.  The women improve to 4-5 on the year while the men upped their record to 6-2.

Catherine Anlas, Hailey Moorehead, Olivia Hower and Kim Petersen got the Pacers off on the right foot in the women's 200 medley relay with a winning time of 2:00.77.  Marywood's "B" team of Kayleigh Velott, Cara Cassandro, Alyssa Desiderio and Katie Ciszek finished second with a time of 2:08.71.  Marywood's "A" and "B" men's team also took first and second in the 200 medley relay, with the "A" team of Daniel Adams, Chris Brown, Thomas Missal and Anthony Pisano finishing first in 1:44.47 while Brian Shanahan, Paul Kremsner, Ryan Widenor and Bryon Scholl finished second with a 1:47.58.

Katie Paterson would win the 1000 free by nearly 30-seconds with a time of 11:26.65 and Zachary Haney won the men's 1000 free in 10:36.32.  Anlas picked up a win in the 200 free in 2:11.85 while Jason Beabout won the men's 200 free in 1:51.33.  Pisano finished second in the men's 200 free with a time of 1:55.70.

In the 100 backstroke, Marywood got a 1-2 finish from Shanahan (59.80) and Paul Kraycer (1:00.30) on the men's side and claimed 2-4 place in the women's race thanks to Velott (1:09.07), Olivia Hower (1:10.69) and Valerie Barlow (1:14.06).

Moorehead picked up the win in the women's 100 breaststroke (1:14.92) and was followed by teammate Patricia Caiati (1:22.15) while Kremsner (1st, 1:12.07), Eddie Sanborn III (2nd, 1:13.91) and Connor Iosue (3rd, 1:15.41) swept the men's race.  Desiderio won the women's 200 butterfly in 2:39.78 while Marywood's men's team swept another race with a first through third showing from Joseph Buderwitz (2:10.07), Missal (2:18.32) and Brown (2:21.68). 

Petersen won the 50 free for the women in 27.21 while Adams and Scholl finished 1-2 for the men.  In the 100 free, Paterson picked up another win with a time of 57.31 while Barlow finished second (59.95) and Tiffany Smith finished third (1:01.80).  Buderwitz was first in the men's 100 free with a time of 52.53 and was followed by Widenor (54.57) and Iosue (54.65).

Marywood's women swept the 200 backstroke thanks to an Anlas win (2:23.25) and strong showings from Velott (2:31.64) and Jamilynn Little (2:47.26) while Beabout won the men's in 2:11.14.  Cassandro won the women's 200 breaststroke in 3:01.96 and Abigail Nicholas finished second with a time of 3:03.32.  Haney won the men's 200 breaststroke in 2:23.31 while Missal won the men's 500 free in 5:50.89.  Paterson won the 100 butterfly (1:04.51) while Buderwitz won the men's (58.17).  

Petersen won the 400 IM for the women in 5:08.74 and Marywood's 200 freestyle relay teams won both the men's and women's events to close the meet.

Marywood returns to action on November 23 and 24 when they take part in the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC in Wilkes-Barre.
