Scranton, PA - Four Marywood University players scored in double figures led by Shane Kellaher's team-high 23 points as the Pacers gave Bob Simmons his first win as Marywood Head Coach in a 82-72 win over visiting Penn State Worthington Scranton Tuesday night at Marywood's Insalaco Arena. The Pacers improved to 1-2 on the year while the Lions fell to 1-3.

Marywood trailed much of the first half but were kept in the game thanks to four three's from Kellaher over the game's opening 10:30, where Marywood found themselves down only 24-20.  The Pacers continued to stay within striking distance and remained down just five with under a minute to go.

That changed when Kendall Harris slammed home a dunk on a Marywood breakaway and Jonathan Velazquez nailed a three to tie the game at 42-42 at the break.  Marywood could do little in the first half to stop the hot shooting of Penn State's Yusef Savage, who went into the lockerroom with 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the floor which included a 4 of 8 mark from long range.  Dequan Jackson also had 11 for the Lions at the break.

Marywood used a 7-0 run over the opening 1:30 of the second half which continued to a 17-2 run over the first four minutes of the second stanza as the Pacers gave themselves a fifteen point lead (59-44).  From there, any attempt from the visitors to get the game back close was met with a Marywood answer at the other end.

Savage finished with a game-high 26 points and Matt Langan added 19 for the Lions while Jackson closed with 18.  For Marywood, Kellaher led the Pacers with his 23 points which included a perfect 6-for-6 effort from three-point range.  Velazquez finished with 16 including four three's, and Harris (13 points) and Ryan Corrigan (11 points) also reached double figures.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they host Cazenovia at 2:00 pm.
