Records Fall as Marywood Completes Thomas Murphy Invite

Baltimore, MD - Daniel Adams set the school record in the 50 Free (22.18) and Zachary Haney set the school record in the 200 IM (2:03.22.) as the Marywood men completed the Thomas Murphy Invitational at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland.  Caterine Anlas bettered her top Landmark time in the 50 Free (25.22.) for the women in the same event.  Marywood's men fell to Division I Loyola Univesity (Md.) and Division III Johns Hopkins while the women fell to Division I opponents Loyola, St. Francis (Pa.) and Hopkins.

Jason Beabout, Haney and Adams were standouts on the men's side. In addition, Eddie Sanborn completed a career best 5:02.99 in the 500 and Anthony Pisano swam a career best 49.14 in the 100 Free. On the women's side, Katie Paterson was strong in the 1650 and Kayleigh Velott was within two seconds of her school record in the 200 Back.

On the men's side, Marywood fell to Hopkins 270-93 and to Loyola 276-94.  The women fell to Loyola 314-50, to St. Francis 267-91 and to Hopkins 270-87. 

Marywood's men's 400 yard medley relay team of Brian Shanahan, Chris Brown, Ryan Widenor and Adams had a strong fourth place showing in a time of 3:45.38.  Paterson completed the 500 free in 5:23.86 (12th place) on the women's side while Beabout finished fourth in the men's 500 (4.49.97). 

Haney was sixth in the men's 200 IM (2:03.22) and Anlas was impressive with her seventh place showing in the 50 free (25.22).  In the men's 50 free, Adams finished sixth with a time of 22.18.  The men's 800 free relay team of Joseph Buderwitz, Pisano, Beabout and Haney had a strong showing, touching in 7:25.61 for fourth place.  Paterson finished sixth in the women's 1650 in a time of 18:30.64 while Beabout finished fifth in the men's 1650 in 17:04.78. 

Heather Wimmer took fifth in diving with a score of 173.55 on the women's 1-meter board while Zachary Lewis was fourth in the men's 1-meter with a score of 133.58.  In 3-meter diving, Wimmer scored 182.55 for fourth place while Peter Inirio scored 139.96 for fourth in the men's 3-meter.

Marywood returns to action Sunday with their first Landmark Conference meet of the year when they take on Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. at 12:00 noon.
